Reflections Series
“Reflections” is a contemporary abstract painting series in three parts that explores the visual poetry of water and the emotional landscapes it can hold. The first group of paintings center on water lilies mirrored on a calm surface, where stillness invites quiet observation and a sense of pause. The second turns to moving streams, where sunlight dances across the water, glimmers over submerged stones, and reveals the shifting interplay between depth, light, and motion. The third moves beneath the surface, looking upward toward the sun as rays filter through the water and illuminate the rocks below, creating a luminous space that feels both immersive and transcendent.
Through abstraction, this body of work reflects the way life experiences, memories, and emotions rise and resurface over time. Each painting focuses on a moment suspended in time while also acknowledging the constant movement beneath the surface. I am interested in the feeling of relaxation water can offer, but also in its energy—the pulse of waves, the rhythm of currents, and the subtle motion that reminds us that nothing remains still for long. In this way, “Reflections” becomes both a meditation and an affirmation: a space for contemplation, renewal, and emotional resonance. Ultimately, the series is intended to evoke an uplifting sense of hope and gratitude, inviting viewers to connect with the beauty, fluidity, and quiet strength present in both nature and human experience.
